Taster session for CPD Workshop: ‘Introduction to Coaching’

7 February 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

£25 – £35
Book

Guy Fearon runs an online CPD taster on coaching, ahead of his in-person workshop in March, for people gaining insight into the subject.

Workshop’s purpose

This ‘taster’ session will give you a clear idea of what to expect in the full-day ‘Introduction to Coaching’ workshop. It will help clarify your thinking about the coaching approach and give you a sense of whether or not this is a subject you’d like to explore further.

There are a number of characteristics that coaching as a discipline shares with the field of counselling/psychotherapy.

Both are concerned with what we might broadly label as human development, growth or learning. Both therefore utilise theories of change and both professions are home to practitioners with a wide range of theoretical perspectives. Both are thought to be ‘helping’ professions and are largely non-directive in nature.

This overlap means that (a) if you are interested in moving into the world of professional coaching you will find that as a counsellor or therapist you already have knowledge and skills that are highly applicable, and (b) if you are interested in finding out more about what ‘coaching’ means and possibly adopting a coaching skillset to add to your practice, you will almost certainly find that you are already coaching your clients at times.

Who is it for?

This workshop is open to all who are interested in understanding more about the field of coaching, but is particularly focused on those already qualified as therapists or counsellors.
