I have been in private practice as a UKCP and BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist for 10 years, having trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust. As a Study Tutor, I feel proud to support trainees academically and pastorally as they progress through the training.
In addition to working as a therapist and trainer, I also edit Private Practice, the quarterly journal for independent practitioners published by BACP, and am a contributing editor to Therapy Today, where I am responsible for the regular ‘Dilemmas’ and ‘Agenda’ pages. I have also managed a counselling service in a primary school, where I have supervised and delivered clinical work with children between the ages of five and 11; been Training Programme Manager at Re-Vision, where I also work as a trainer with a special interest in ethics, time-limited counselling and difference and diversity; and am an Experiential Training Group facilitator at the Minster Centre.
Previous to training as a therapist, I worked in the arts in a variety of roles in the theatre. I enjoy working in a training environment as I am passionate about the craft of therapy and feel privileged to be able to play a part in facilitating trainees to achieve their full potential.
