COUNSELLING SESSIONS DURING COVID-19:
Thank you for your interest in counselling at the Psychosynthesis Trust.
In light of most recent events, our building is closed and we have suspended in person sessions. Safety and wellbeing come first, thus we are now holding all our sessions online via video calls.
If you feel anxious about the Coronavirus outbreak, vulnerable and lonely in isolation or would like to talk to us for any other reasons, please email us at email@example.com or leave us a message on 020 7403 7814. Our phone is checked once a day at the moment, and will be fixed soon. Our response may be a little slower than usual, please bear with us.
With kindest regards,
Your Counselling Service Team
“The low cost clinic has changed everything for me. The service that I have received from my first phone call to my weekly sessions has been professional, supportive and understanding but above all approachable. It was a great move to look to the Trust, and it and my therapist have been amazing.”
You might be feeling stuck, lonely or lost. Perhaps you are struggling with an aspect of your life, wanting change or looking for a different way of relating? The choice to enter counselling can reflect a life-affirming impulse, a search for meaning or purpose and can often deepen your sense of identity.
Our counselling and psychotherapy service consists of professional and experienced therapists, who have all qualified through our training programme at the Psychosynthesis Trust. Our low-cost-counselling-service, on the other hand, offers sessions with a trainee counsellor in their 2nd or 3rd year of training at the Psychosynthesis Trust.
All our counsellors (whether qualified or in training) work from a Psychosynthesis perspective and subscribe to the BACP's (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) ethical framework for good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and/or that of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy).
Working with a Psychosynthesis therapist is an opportunity to creatively explore possibility, potential and change, as well as attending to your challenges, pain and struggles at present.
Once we receive your registration form, the Counselling Service will make contact with you by email within 4 weeks to arrange an appointment for a telephone assessment, so that we can better understand your needs.
Sessions with a qualified therapist
Fees start from £60 per session. All of our therapists are qualified, professional and experienced members of the BACP and/or UKCP. They practice in varying locations across London including our premises at London Bridge.
Once we have received your completed registration questionnaire, a representative of the Counselling Service will make contact with you to schedule a call for a telephone assessment and then we will carefully match you with the most appropriate and available therapist. The therapist will then contact you to arrange an appointment.
There are also a limited number of reduced fee slots (£45-£55) available with our qualified therapists.
Our aim is to make counselling accessible to as many people as possible. Low-cost counselling takes place on our premises at London Bridge and offers a counselling service for people who can’t afford to pay full fees. As a client you can have low-cost counselling for both short and long-term therapy.
Counselling takes place with a counsellor-in-training in their 2nd or 3rd year of training, who is being supervised by an experienced clinical supervisor. To support your therapy, the Counselling Service will conduct a telephone assessment with you to establish your suitability for working with a trainee. Please note that we may need to ask more detailed questions about you and your psychological health and financial situation during the telephone assessment as part of our process, as not all clients would be served to be seen by a counsellor-in-training.
If after the assessment, we feel you may not be served by being seen by a counsellor-in-training, we may be able to refer you to one of the limited places for reduced fee therapy with a qualified counsellor.
Session fees in our low-cost counselling service are between £30 and £10 depending on what you can afford. Please be aware, that counsellors-in-training are required to audio-record their sessions as a learning tool to strengthen their practice and support you on your counselling journey. Recording will be kept throughout training and then securely deleted once the counsellor-in-training has qualified.
Low-cost counselling is available for individuals from 18+ years. This service is not available for people seeking couples counselling or individuals currently training in counselling and/or psychotherapy.
You can start the process of finding a couples counsellor by clicking the ‘Fill in the Registration Questionnaire’ button below. There is a £25 registration fee, which covers the placement with a suitable couples counsellor.
Couples counselling fees start from £80 depending on the length of the sessions agreed (usually anywhere between 1 to 2 hours). Sessions are run by qualified counsellors, who are all professional and experienced members of the BACP and/or UKCP. They practice in varying locations across London including our premises at London Bridge.
If you are looking for a couples counsellor, please fill in the registration questionnaire below indicating both names, both contact details as well as your availabilities, where both parties can attend sessions together within the registration form. Please provide your partner's name, contact details and date of birth in question 1 of the registration questionnaire as well as an explanation why you are seeking couples counselling at this moment.
Once we have received all required information, a representative of the Counselling Service will carefully match you with the most appropriate and available therapist. The therapist will then contact you to arrange an appointment.
