Explore your creative expression at this meditative one day in-person workshop at the Psychosynthesis Trust.

Hosted by: Paola Marinelli
Format: In-person

Why this workshop?

This workshop is an opportunity for participants to live and recognise the artistic dimension that resides in each of us, one that is usually neglected.

Fare Filosìn is a synthesis that was created by Paola Marinelli based on her life experience as an Architect and love of psychosynthesis. From architecture, Paola learnt about composition and its power to generate inspiring, interesting, and beautiful forms. The training in psychosynthesis gave Paola the pleasure of exploring the depths of her being and the opportunity to discover the possibility of creative syntheses within herself.

It was through this synthesis that Paola discovered the great power of the hands, as not only mere executors but rather a wise part, beyond the limits of the mind. This understanding allowed Paola to contain (and handle) the complexities of everyday life, transforming conflicts into beauty. It is Paola’s deep belief that creative doing together is an experience of spirituality that connects many different levels of existence (inside-out, high and low; matter and spirit…) and can pacify the conflicting duality that pervades our culture.

At this workshop, participants will:

–  Discover a different way of experimenting: rediscovering the senses in dialogue with materials, shapes, colours, relying on our hands and our eyes, thus freeing the imagination through doing.

– Experience a form of meditation in action, a being in contact with what is there at that moment, in which the process is the focus of attention, beyond the result.

– Explore themselves and the new, through creative play, sharing, trust, where what wants to express itself can go out, and what can enrich us can enter.

– Have the opportunity to transport to a different time, one where to get out of the already knowing place and discover that shapes, abstract landscapes, combinations of colours are sources of the unknown

– Work as a group, a time without judgment, where forms are welcomed with curiosity, sympathy, and compassion.

Who is it for/who it will benefit?

The workshop is open to those interested in exploring their creative expression, no previous psychosynthesis experience is necessary.

If you have any accessibility needs or special requirements that you need assistance with, please email Kajal at events@ptrust.org.uk.

Paola MarinelliTrainer: Paola Marinelli

Paola was born in Verona and graduated in Architecture. She had the opportunity to meet and fall in love with Psychosynthesis as a path of personal growth, sharing the experience with a small group of people with whom in 1982, co-founded the Bolzano Center of Psychosynthesis, a local branch of the Istituto di Psicosintesi.

Since then Paola could practice her two main passions as parallel activities, one supporting the other: Architecture, as a professional on her own, and Psychosynthesis as service, in the leading team of the Center. Later she became trainer in the Official Self-Development Program and member of the Board of Directors of the Istituto (1994-1998). From 1984 she was also a member of the Comunità di Psicosintesi di Città della Pieve, which she left in 2003 to follow her own service practice.

From 2004 she has been working at “Casa Assagioli”, first as an architect, later funding the Gruppo alle Fonti which takes care of the written materials left by Assagioli and opens Casa Assagioli to Italian and foreigner Psychosynthesis friends.

Meanwhile she started a practice as a visual artist, which has become her main field of expression, leading to create a new practice of self-development through creativity called Filosìn, as a synthesis between her profession as an architect and her decades of experience with psychosynthesis, both on a personal level and as a trainer at the Institute.
