COVID-19 safety measures
The Trust building is back open for in-person training courses, counselling, room hire and some CPD events. Trust Trainer Giel Luichjes welcomes students by outlining the new safety measures and building layout.
The Trust building
The Trust owns a freehold building of 8,500 square feet where all in-person programmes take place. It is located in a vibrant part of London at the heart of a new business and leisure area with many restaurants and shops. Part of the Trust’s building is currently rented out to Power2. In addition to office space, the Trust has a number of training and counselling rooms as well as communal refreshment facilities.
Required personal facilities
Whilst there are many facilities available for students at the Trust building, all students will need to have personal access to the following to complete assignments and receive information and communications about their training:
- a computer
- a printer
- the internet
- email.
The Trust cannot provide printing, photocopying or I.T. support to students. It is a student’s responsibility to email their submissions/paperwork/assignments on time.
Our Facilities
Getting to the Trust
The building is about 500 metres from London Bridge station, served by National Rail and the Jubilee and Northern tube lines. Various bus services serve the area and there are official taxi ranks located outside the building on Bermondsey Street.
We advise you not to visit by car as Tooley Street is a Red Route and we do not have any allocated parking spaces. We are also within the London Congestion Charge area.
All visitors should report to Reception on the Ground Floor. Reception is open from 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Accessibility
Most parts of the building are wheelchair accessible and there is a lift serving all floors.
The adapted, accessible toilet is on the First Floor.
The Library
The Trust’s Library stocks relevant books and journals, as well as a reference section, with most of the books on course recommended reading lists available for loan.
The Library is situated in the Basement and is open as follows:
- Fridays 13.00 – 20.00
- Saturdays & Sundays 10.00 – 17.00
We are happy to review the Library’s opening hours in accordance with student demand. Please forward any requests through your student rep.
Generally, you will be able to access the library during office hours, although it may sometimes be occupied.
The reference section is situated in the Refectory, outside the staff room. Students are welcome to use the reference books at any time, but the books should not be taken off the premises and must be returned on the same day of use. The Trust offers this resource in the good faith and is available to all students, graduates, and programme team members.
Library Procedures
Full details of how to borrow and return books are displayed in the Library.
If a book has been borrowed, it should be signed out. Returned books should be returned to the ‘returned books box’ rather than the shelves.
Copies of Student Masters dissertations are available for reference purposes, upon request, but are not allowed out of the building.
Students will not be able to graduate until they return all books on loan.
All book donations are gladly accepted by The Library, especially those books that may be of special benefit to Trust students. All donations are much appreciated and duly acknowledged.
The Refectory
The Refectory is situated in the Basement and is for the use of all students and staff.
The Trust provides tea, coffee, fresh dairy and non-dairy milk and some herbal teas. A kettle, urn, toaster, and microwaves are also provided. Refreshment storage facilities include a refrigerator and small larder, but it is requested that all food be labelled with your name and any unwanted food is disposed of. For health and safety reasons the fridge is regularly emptied and unmarked food removed.
A dishwasher is available to be used and is filled and emptied by all students using the crockery and refectory facilities.
Please be sure to leave the Refectory clean and tidy in consideration for others. Your mugs, plates etc. are to be washed and put away, all surfaces should be wiped clean and rubbish disposed of in the bins provided.
Food and drinks are not allowed in training rooms. Water is permitted in training rooms.
Toilets and washrooms
There are two toilets available on each floor and a shower in the Basement.
The adapted, accessible toilet is on the First Floor. All floors are accessible by the lift.
Wi-Fi & AV equipment
There is a Wi-Fi hub at the Trust. For details of how to log on, ask at reception.
A range of audio-visual equipment is available for students to use including televisions, DVD recording & playback, video cameras, CD/Cassette players, LCD Projector, and screen.
Meditation room
The Trust is pleased to be able to provide a Meditation Room for those needing or wishing for a quiet place. It is located in the Basement, on the left, at the bottom of the stairs.
Purchasing books
Some of the required books on psychosynthesis are available for sale from the Trust office and many are easily available online.
Books purchased from the Trust may be posted if required; the Trust needs to have received the payment for the book along with £3 for post and packing in these circumstances. Payment by debit/credit card is acceptable.
