Who is it for?

The workshops are open to those interested in psychosynthesis who are looking to gain a deeper experience of Self.

They are particularly relevant to professionals working with clients, where the relationship is key, such as therapists, counsellors and coaches.

Please note, the workshop requires participants to be aged 30 and over.

Workshop purpose:

The BEYOND workshops will give you the chance to:

• Explore your personality and connect with your deeper identity through characterological formation, sub-personalities and dis-identifying.
• Realise more of your full potential by identifying elements which are impeding your personal and spiritual growth, working with liberating techniques and opening to the life-giving light of your Self.
• Gain a wider, more complete sense of your own humanity and your connection to all creation.

Our approach:

Psychosynthesis as applied to psychotherapy is a unique approach that combines both psychology and spirituality. It is a holistic process that helps the individual deal with patterns of behaviours which inhibit or prevent living life in meaningful and fulfilling ways. It brings us into contact with the life journey to meaning and purpose.

The BEYOND workshops follow the psychosynthesis principle that self-knowledge must precede self-awareness and healthy self-management. That a healthy relationship with oneself is the prerequisite for relating creatively with others.

What to expect and learning outcomes:

The workshop will consist of various guided exercises and visualisations with inspiration from imagery, poetry, and quotations from sages old and new. Participants will have the opportunity for free drawing, note-taking and sharing in pairs and the larger group. They will learn:

• To make more space for the Self, the source of our values and our inspiration.
• To identify more fully with the Self, which enables the psychosynthesis skill of Bi-focal Vision, enhancing the professional’s ability to be fully present to the client. This also facilitates the key coaching and counselling competency of Detached Involvement, thereby enabling greater mastery.
• A fuller understanding of themselves and of the main drivers in their personality.
• A more evolved sense of self, enabling clarity of discernment and wiser and more confident decision-making.
• Enhanced self-awareness and self-leadership skills.

Trainer:

Gordon Symons

Gordon graduated from the Psychosynthesis Trust in 1994 and has been practicing as a counsellor since. His background is in executive cross-cultural coaching and training for professional people, which includes working as an Energy and Resilience consultant, trainer and facilitator in a multinational pharmaceutical company for ten years, working in 3 languages.

He remains active in the psychosynthesis community, translating the Italian magazine Psicosintesi into English and has translated hundreds of Assagioli’s papers, which are published on the website of Kenneth Sorensen, author of “The Soul of Psychosynthesis”.

Gordon designs and delivers personal and professional development workshops through his consulting company, Milestone consulting.

Qualifications: M.A. Honours in Modern Languages, Diploma in Counselling and Therapy, BACP Accredited, APECS accredited Executive Coach.
