BACP: We have been busy finding ways to support and promote the good work our graduates do. This has resulted in our counselling course now being recognised by BACP as an in-person training with online competencies, as we recognise working online is here to stay and can be very beneficial, ensuring our graduates are ready for the world of work.
UKCP: Our counselling course is rigorous, and we are proud of our graduates. Over the last couple of years, we have been working with the Psychotherapeutic Counsellor College of UKCP to recognise that graduates from our counselling training can hold the title of psychotherapeutic counsellor after they have completed 450 hours of clinical work, with signed off hours from a UKCP registered supervisor showcasing a ratio of 1 hour of supervision to six clinical practice hours.
This means that graduates from the Trust since 2021 can register through the Trust with UKCP as a psychotherapeutic counsellor, subject to completing 450 client hours with the 1:6 ratio of recognised supervision.

* Note: registration must be applied for within a ten-year window from the year that you started the Post Graduate Diploma. This means for those of you interested in being a psychotherapist, all of your work (research project included), needs to be completed within this ten-year window.
Titles like Psychotherapeutic counsellor and Psychotherapist relate to different levels of study (as recognsied by UKCP). Please ensure that your website and advertising correctly represents you.
