Sonia Antoniazzi
A beloved member of the Trust community Sonia Antoniazzi has sadly passed away. During this time the whole team and wider community share our gratitude for Sonia’s contributions to the Trust, both inside and outside the training room, holding roles as our Training Manager and Study Tutor. We share our deepest sympathies with Sonia’s friends and family at this time.
Trust trainer and Sonia’s friend Dermod Moore shares his appreciation and funeral details below.
An appreciation by Dermod Moore.
Sonia Antoniazzi, who passed away suddenly in November, was a big-hearted, brave, blunt, raucous, gentle, brash, comic and generous soul. She was Training Manager at the Trust from 2016 till 2018, and for many years after that she volunteered her
weekends assisting on the Foundation Year training. Many of you former students will remember her assisting me; we were a double-act that was a joy to be part of. Quick and insightful, she had a way of challenging BS that was really fun. If any of you have sung along to “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing” in a Muppet Show in an online Subpersonalities module, that was her zany idea. While she was Training Manager, she instigated the Trust’s participation in the 2017 Pride Parade. She had a profound love for and understanding of neurodivergent people, and her practice as a therapist, trainer and supervisor reflected that, motivated by her love for her nephew Nathan. She was a longtime volunteer for the Food Chain, the charity for people with HIV.
She’s gone far too soon, and I miss her.
Her funeral will take place on Friday 15th December in Enfield. Details are here: https://soniaantoniazzi.muchloved.com/
