Who we are - Trainers
Jonathan Richardson
Study Tutor
Jonathan graduated as a psychosynthesis counsellor from the Trust in 2024 and now works in private practice from his therapy room in a former shipping container. He works with clients from all walks of life, with a special interest in addiction issues following from volunteering at the charity Waythrough. His research interest is in the application of play/playful processes for adults to engage vulnerability, presence, joy and explore how people can connect to less abstract experiences.- all of which stems from his many years attending and leading clowning workshops.
His path to psychosynthesis training emerged from two complementary journeys: one through charity work preserving cultural traditions in threatened communities, which deepened his connection to spirituality, ritual, and the healing missing from modern life; the other through theatre, which cultivated creative energy, imagination, and a comfort with risk, fear, and possibility— which has proved a good foundation for psychosynthesis counselling.
As a study tutor, Jonathan aims to spark students’ curiosity in exploring their own relationship to Psychosynthesis while guiding them through the practical challenges of the course. It is this unique learning journey—one he values deeply—that inspired him to join the training team.
