Laura Starnier

Study Tutor

Laura completed her training at the Psychosynthesis Trust in 2022 and is in private practice in Bournemouth. Prior to this, she trained as a bereavement counsellor with Cruse. Before becoming a counsellor, Laura worked as an actor, alongside a varied career which included research analysis and a short foray into rainforest conservation.

These diverse experiences have contributed to Laura’s curiosity about people, the stories we tell about ourselves, and the different ways we make sense of our lives. Her background in acting has particularly informed her interest in creativity and in the transpersonal dimensions of the creative process — the sense that creativity can sometimes take us beyond our familiar ways of seeing ourselves and the world.

For Laura, Psychosynthesis offers an expansive and compassionate framework through which to explore the whole person, including their social context. Her own experience of moving between very different worlds has given her a particular appreciation for the fact that there is rarely a single, straightforward ‘normal’ route through life. Sometimes the unexpected turns are where the most interesting possibilities begin.
