The Psychosynthesis Trust’s Social Impact Director, Kelly Tyler, established the Exploring Anxiety Project to assist people explore anxiety through nature and community. Now the project has been working with the Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST) to connect with people in the local area.
Exploring Anxiety will be part of a group taking part in the ‘Touch 4 Love’ walking tour of the London Bridge area on Tuesday 31st October. The project aims to create a trail across SE1 of ‘Touch 4 Love’ posters that highlight locations that offer “mindful moments”.
Kelly Tyler said:
“The Psychosynthesis Trust has been working with BOST for over a year with our Exploring Anxiety Programme and the participants always comment on how Crossbones Gardens feels like a safe place to feel connected to what is greater than themselves.
The ‘Touch 4 Love’ Campaign is a great way to connect people and organisations in the borough and to remind us all, that support and connection is always available.”
Along the guided walk, there are several different ‘Touch 4 Love’ posters provided by different organisations including the Trust, which link people to information and advise on dealing with anxiety. The walk goes through several hidden nature spots on the borough. The original ‘Touch 4 Love’ sign at Crossbones was painted by two brothers supporting each other with their mental health.
The walk takes place 4.15pm – 5pm and starts and ends in the Crossbones Graveyard. This is also when Crossbones will be celebrating Samhain. Attendees are invited to stay and enjoy the night time celebrations.
If you are interested in taking part, please contact BOST via email to express your interest.
