The Psychosynthesis Trust offers low-cost counselling, where you will be seen by a trainee counsellor within 2-3 weeks.
How much does it cost?
Our fee structure is as follows:
- £15 to £25 for students, low waged or part-time, receipt of benefits
- £30-£45 for people who can’t afford private therapy with a qualified counsellor.
We run sessions on a weekly basis, either online (for UK based clients only) or in-person at The Psychosynthesis Trust in London Bridge.
Who are the counsellors?
Sessions are provided by trainee counsellors, who have joined a placement with us as part of their studies to qualify as a counsellor. They are regularly supervised by an experienced supervisor and committed to adhering to the BACP ethical framework and confidentiality guidelines.
Limitations of the low-cost counselling service:
Our low-cost service is a general service, which doesn’t specialise in issues such as listed below, where there would be a need for more knowledge and expertise. In these instances a more specialist service would be appropriate, and where possible we will signpost you.
- clients with a level of risk that is not manageable within this service
- clients with current and active addictions, eating disorders or PTSD symptoms (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
- clients with history or current symptoms of psychosis
- clients with bipolar affective disorder/borderline or antisocial personality disorder
-
clients who are currently training in counselling and/or psychotherapy
